A Taste of Place brings together a patchwork of Southern France finest terroirs, from sea-swept coasts to mountain slopes. Each wine captures a mood, a landscape and a promise of what will unfold in the glass. With labels that guide rather than intimidate, the collection opens the door for curious drinkers to explore Languedoc wine with ease and delight.
Sans Détour represents the most terroir-focused red in the A Taste of Place range, sourced from Boutenac, the recognized cru at the heart of the appellation and the benchmark for the finest Corbières has to offer.
This is a wine with real prestige positioning, combining old-vine Carignan from red sandstone soils with the structure and aging potential that premium restaurant lists and serious retail buyers respond to. With 5 to 10 years of cellaring potential and a blend that includes Mourvèdre for longevity, it earns its place at the top of any southern French red selection.
Carignan: 50% Grenache Noir + Mourvèdre and Syrah (percentages not specified individually)
Carignan from Boutenac's red sandstone, Grenache from rounded-stone terraces, and Syrah and Mourvèdre from sunlit slopes combine to give the wine both expressive fruit and firm structural backbone. Carbonic maceration for the Carignan, native yeast fermentation without added sulfur, and a 50/50 split between stainless steel and 225-liter oak barrels result in a wine that is dense yet precise, with no dominant oak influence.
The nose delivers ripe plum, kirsch, garrigue, and tobacco, while the palate is silky and concentrated, with savory depth and a long, clean finish. Corbières-Boutenac cru status, certified organic farming, and the winemaking precision here make this one of the most persuasive bottles in the entire portfolio.
