Amid garrigue and rolling hills, the Champ des Murailles unites organic farming with a forward-thinking winery. Beneficial rainfall and cooler winters nurture the vines, while varied soils—including Poudingues (naturally cemented pebbles) and calcareous clay—preserve freshness. Sleek, water-saving vats and a streamlined bottling line fuse centuries-old tradition with modern innovation, capturing a vibrant sense of place.
La Petite Muraille is the estate's core organic red, a Syrah-dominant Corbières AOP that covers the everyday drinking category with genuine reliability and appealing aromatics. Approachable from release yet structured enough for 3 to 5 years of development, it is the kind of bottle that moves steadily across casual dining lists, bistro programs, and accessible retail.
Syrah: 65% + Carignan: 25% + Grenache Noir: 10%
The vines, 25 to 50 years old, are densely planted on sandstone and clay-limestone soils at 4,500 vines per hectare, yielding a focused 40 hl/ha that delivers depth and concentration at an accessible price point. Each variety is fermented separately over 12 days with daily pump-overs, then blended before malolactic fermentation and aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness and natural vibrancy.
The nose opens with rosemary, blueberry, and cassis, giving way to a smooth, harmonious palate of raspberry, dark cherry, black pepper, sage, and a finish of milk chocolate and licorice. The certified organic status, AOP Corbières appellation, and consistent fruit-forward style give this wine a solid and dependable commercial foundation.
