To the younger, lighter soils of the Roero, north of Alba/the Langhe, to the comune of Pocapaglia ('Roccapalea' in Roman times) where since taking over from their parents in 2014 the Tibaldi sorelle/sisters, Monica & Daniela, have been busy conjuring up such pretty wines from their 8ha of delicious organic fruit. Key to the estate is the Arneis variety, with which they also make a sapid Riserva 'Bricco delle Passere' & a metodo classico 'RitaSte' from the vyd that lies behind the cantina. They also make small quantities of Langhe Nebbiolo, Favorita, Barbera d'Alba, & a very fine Roero DOCG from single vyd Coste Anforiano.
Their 2024 Roero Arneis is a blend of fruit from three different vyds: Mormore', Bricco delle Passere, & Coste Anforiano, wild ferment in stainless steel, & aged for 6 mths on its fine lees until a March bottling.
