In 2009, Julien Bréchet took over the reins of the historic family estate. He immediately embarked on a thorough examination of his terroirs, separated his vinifications, and let the terroir define his wines. To the blended wine that made Gigondas famous, he added several cuvées with a strong identity. With this single vineayard wine approach, he broke with convention and blazed a new trail. 50 ha, including 26 ha in Gigondas. Organic certification since 2021. Biodynamic conversion with Biodyvin in progress. 85% old vines, 50 to 100 years old. Cool expositions, Late ripening. West and north-facing slopes. Altitude: 200 to 550m. Soils: Marls and limestones, sands, sandy clay, red sandstones.
A stylistic evolution of the Réserve du Domaine, this cuvée "Les Hauts Lieux" is much more than a blend; it is a true Vin de Lieu. It is a blend of the estate's old vines, grown at low yields, on the large, cool limestone marl terroirs of Les Bosquets. A wine of rare complexity and vibrant balance, faithfully reflecting the estate's fabulous potential.
