Benoît Eschard didn't grow up in wine. An engineer by training, he chose it later — taking over the estate in 2013, when his wife's uncle came looking for a successor.
His approach has been quietly methodical from day one : listen to the vines, let each terroir speak. Vintage after vintage, he has rebuilt the work from the ground up.
The terroir does the rest. Ten hectares — seven of them Mercurey Premier Cru, spread across three climats — anchored by the 4.9-hectare Clos des Grands Voyens, a monopole that gives the domaine a signature all its own.
Recognition followed quickly : a first star in the Guide de la Revue du Vin de France in 2021, a second in 2022 — placing Jeannin-Naltet among the very elite of the appellation.
