Armagnac Castarède 1893
Bas-Armagnac – 40% ABV
Distilled in 1893 and preserved for more than a century, this exceptional Armagnac stands as a rare witness to time and to the enduring savoir-faire of Maison Castarède, founded in 1832 and the oldest Armagnac house still in operation.
Aged for decades in Gascon oak before being carefully transferred to glass demi-johns to preserve its balance, this historic vintage offers extraordinary complexity and finesse. The nose reveals deep notes of dried fruits, antique wood, leather, tobacco, spices and rancio. On the palate, it is remarkably smooth and layered, with flavors of prune, cocoa, orange peel, gentle spice and noble oxidative notes, carried by a velvety texture and exceptional harmony. The finish is extremely long, elegant and contemplative.
A true liquid archive and collector’s Armagnac, produced in extremely limited quantities, reserved for connoisseurs, collectors and landmark celebrations.
