Armagnac Castarède 1986
Bas-Armagnac – 40% ABV
Distilled in 1986 and patiently aged for decades in Gascon oak barrels, this vintage Armagnac illustrates the depth, elegance and ageing potential of Bas-Armagnac at its finest. Bottled by Maison Castarède, founded in 1832 and the oldest Armagnac house still in operation, it reflects nearly two centuries of blending and maturation expertise.
The nose is complex and expressive, opening with notes of dried fruits, candied orange peel, spices and polished oak. On the palate, it is rich and harmonious, revealing layers of prune, cocoa, gentle spice and rancio, supported by a silky texture and remarkable balance. The finish is long, refined and persistent.
A true vintage Armagnac for connoisseurs, best enjoyed neat, and ideally positioned in the premium and collectible segment.
