Winemaker Note
"Pinot Gris is a variety we lean into for texture and flavour. It rewards a hands-on approach in the winery. In 2025, we again built complexity through a mix of skin contact, barrel fermentation, and extended time on lees, while retaining freshness and clarity. The result is a pale, lightly blushed Gris with generous texture, gentle grip, and bright natural acidity." - Jonny Hughes
Fruit from vineyards in the North West (24%), Tamar (36%) and Derwent Valley (40%) was picked between 11.9 and 13.3 Baume. Parcels were split across skin ferment (14%), seasoned barrels (40%), and tank (36%), then blended and matured on lees in tank. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation late in alcoholic ferment. Bottled unfined and filtered.
Tasting Note
Classic spiced pear leads the aromatics. The palate is generous and textural, with pure fruit at the core and ripe acidity providing balance and lift. Lees work and barrel fermentation add weight and a fine, gentle grip, shaping a rounded and expressive wine.
