Co-exhibitor of WINES OF SOUTH AFRICA
Waterkloof Estate is an independent, regenerative farm overlooking False Bay on the coastal outskirts of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
This spectacular vineyard site, ideal for the production of fine wines, was founded by former sommelier, importer and French wine producer Paul Boutinot in 2003.
The farm is home to a single 100ha vineyard of ultra-low yielding, naturally balanced vines, with a further 100ha having been set aside and regenerated as a certified WWF Conservation Champion site. Room is also made on this regenerative estate for the myriad livestock that provide natural fertility for the estate's vineyards.
Since constructing it's award-winning, solar-powered winery and commencing export in 2009, this pioneering estate has already managed to attain the largest number of features of any wine producer, not only in Decanter’s Weekday Wine Section, but also in Jancis Robinson MW’s ‘Wine of The Week’ page on the world's most respected wine website jancisrobinson.com
In addition to the Circumstance, Circle of Life and Waterkloof wines which come from the estate, the Waterkloof team are also responsible for creating the pocket-friendly and naturally crafted False Bay range from grapes sourced throughout South Afrcia's Coastal Region. False Bay is now a leading non-supermarket South African brand across Europe.
