Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on the farm L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert, who passed away in 2001, the farm was taken over by his brother Johann Rupert in 2003. Anthonij Rupert Wyne's portfolio of wines includes some of the country's most iconic brands, such as Anthonij Rupert Optima, Protea and L'Ormarins ranges. The company also produces several premium, small-batch wines under the Anthonij Rupert and Cape of Good Hope labels. De Wetshof Estate in Robertson is internationally recognised as South Africa’s House of Chardonnay for the distinctive quality of its range of wines made from the noble white grape of Burgundy, as well as for the pioneering role De Wetshof played in pioneering the introduction of Chardonnay in South Africa during the 1970s and 1980s.
The quality of De Wetshof Chardonnay is attributed to the most important factor evident in every great wine of the world: terroir. Robertson’s soils contain the highest levels of limestone in the Cape winelands, and Chardonnay is known as a variety that truly comes to the fore when its vineyards are planted to these chalky patches of ancient earth. Limestone soils mean low pH levels in the finished wines, ensuring brightness, a palette of diverse, fresh flavours and the alluring complexity in mouth-feel and palate weight that has made Chardonnay the finest white wine grape in the world.
With almost five decades of experience in the growing of Chardonnay vineyards and making wine from the grapes, the De Wet family of De Wetshof have an ingrained understanding of their unique terroir and the way the vines interact with the soils, climate and aspect to result in a suite of site-specific wines. Each of the Estate’s Chardonnays originate from a unique parcel of terroir on De Wetshof, resulting in a range of De Wetshof Chardonnays of individuality and excellence expressing the astonishing range of flavour profiles this cultivar is famous for.

Nestled in the heart of the Swartland, just 70km north of Cape Town and a short drive from Malmesbury, Swartland Wynkelder is surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards that define this unique wine region.
Our grapes are sourced from vineyards scattered across the Swartland, where warm days are balanced by the cooling influence of Atlantic Ocean breezes. Combined with the diverse soils and nearby mountain ranges, these natural elements create a range of microclimates that add depth and character to every grape we harvest.
With a proud history spanning more than 70 years, Swartland Winery has evolved from a small co-operative into a dynamic, privately owned wine company. Today, our three business units work together to offer our clients a seamless, all-in-one wine experience.
Our story began in 1948, when 15 pioneering members came together in a local cinema to establish the Swartland Co-operative. Determined to gain independence from the KWV, they built their own cellar where they could produce and press their grapes. The first chairman generously donated 4 hectares of his farm, Doornkuil, laying the foundation for what we are today.
From these humble beginnings, Swartland Winery has grown into a leading producer, crafting approximately 2 million bottles of wine each year from grapes sourced across 3,600 hectares of vineyards.
