Co-exhibitor of Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico
Ricasoli is the most representative wine producer in the Chianti Classico area and one of the ten oldest family businesses in the world. The Castello di Brolio estate, located in the commune of Gaiole in Chianti, nestled among gentle hills and dense woodlands of oaks and chestnuts, is spread out over 1,200 hectares, of which almost 240 hectares are dedicated to vineyards and 26 to olive groves. Francesco Ricasoli, current owner and President of the company, has generated new ideas and concepts to render the vineyards sustainable. The ongoing study of soil types and the clonal selection of the Brolio Sangiovese are among his greatest passions, and he has totally renovated the vineyards and completely mapped them. There are four Chianti Classico among the fine products produced by Ricasoli: Castello di Brolio Gran Selezione, Ricasoli’s hallmark wine, Brolio Chianti Classico and Brolio Riserva, the flagship wines, and Brolio Bettino, a tribute by Ricasoli to the quintessential qualities of Chianti wines with a contemporary interpretation. From the zonation project there are three crus: Colledilà, Roncicone e CeniPrimo, all Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Gaiole wines. Leading the collection is Casalferro, an all-Merlot since 2018, product of the three most prized vineyards.
The company has choosen the Equalitas Certification standard which, in addition to the environmental sustainability, it also stresses the ethical, social and economic aspects which are equally important to us.
