Jorge Piernas Bodegas y Viñedos is a boutique winery that produces around 27,000 bottles annually since 2015 and owns 9 hectares of old vineyards in the Northwest area of ​​Murcia, specifically in Venta del Pino and Valle del Aceniche(DO BULLAS). It is a family winery where Jorge Piernas (winemaker) is the visible head of the project, helped by his parents and brother. Jorge Piernas, apart from working in California, Argentina, New Zealand and South Africa. He also makes wines in an important winery in Chateauneuf du Papes. Therefore, his extensive experience makes him produce quality wines from Mediterranean varieties such as Monastrell, Garnacha and Macabeo. We currently have 8 hectares of old Monastrell (Mourvedre) and 1 of Macabeo, on clay loam soils with gravel where the vineyard is worked manually to obtain quality grapes and in the winery those grapes are taken maximum care of with minimal intervention and without the addition of oenological products to wine. The vineyards are certified organic and the wines are not filtered or stabilized.
