It was in 1935 that Count Gaetano Marzotto bought and reclaimed over a thousand hectares of agricultural land, a farming estate which had previously belonged to the Stucky family. His plan was futuristic. Count Marzotto envisaged a new style of efficient and modern agriculture, based on man, nature and technology working together in harmony. His production model was to be applied to farming the basic essentials: cereals, dairy and meat. The best plots, 140 hectares, were destined to winegrowing. Today the Group extends over 684 hectares of vineyards, 70% of which are directly owned and more than half are organically farmed. Its vineyards are found in various locations across the length and breadth of the Italian peninsula and play an active role in promoting and garnering attention for premium Italian wines throughout the world.
