The Bava Family grows, with natural methods, vineyards in the farmhouses of Castiglione Falletto, Agliano and Cocconato, where excellent wines are produced.
In Cocconato, in the Pieve farmhouse, Barbera, Albarossa and white grapes are grown.
The grapes for Nizza Pianoalto and Barbera Libera are from Agliano, from the vineyards of the Pianoalto of Crena farmhouse.
In Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the cru Scarrone, the Bava Family owns, amidst the vineyards, a modern cellar devoted to Barolo and Nebbiolo.
The family group includes also a sparkling and spirits company, Giulio Cocchi, a boutique winery that produces, since 1891, wine-based aperitifs and hundred percent Piedmontese sparkling wines following the best traditions of Asti area.
Cocchi boasts a fine tradition in the production of Metodo Classico, ALTA LANGA, and Metodo Italiano sparkling wines and it is considered the creator of the original formula of Aperitivo Americano and Barolo Chinato in 1891.
With its Storico Vermouth di Torino, Cocchi has been recognized again as the #1 Best Selling Brand and #1 Top Trending Brand in the vermouth category by the Drinks International Annual Brands Report 2025.
Cocchi produces, since 1891, wine based aperitifs and 100% Piedmontese sparkling wines in Asti. All Cocchi products are based on wine and the recipes are still those of the past, codified on the basis of the intuitions of Giulio Cocchi himself. Nowadays the name of Cocchi is famous all over the world for its aromatized wines – in particular different types of Vermouth di Torino, Barolo Chinato, Americano – and sparkling wines, including renowned Alta Langa DOCG and Asti DOCG.
