Punta de Flechas was made from the selection of Malbec grapes, in the heart of Flechas de los Andes vineyard. The so-named winery was born from the association between Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Mr. Laurent Dassault. This partnership reflects the realization of their quest for a great terroir at the foothills of the Andes, in the Mendoza region. The name “Flechas de los Andes” or “Andes Arrows” refers to the 5 arrows, emblem of the Rothschild family (symbolizing the 5 brothers at the origin of this dynasty of entrepreneurs). “Punta de Flechas” or “the spike of the arrows” is derived from the same symbolic attachment. The partnership between the Rothschild and Dassault families is a testament to their shared commitment to producing exceptional Argentinean wine.
TERROIR : Granite stones, sand and gravel from the Andes
AVERAGE VINE AGE : 17 years
HARVEST : Hand-picking
WINEMAKING : The grapes fill stainless steel tanks by the action of gravity. Traditional vinification with diary pumping over in stainless tanks. Maceration during10-15 days. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
AGING: : 70% in stainless vats, 30% in second use French Oak.
BLEND : 100% Malbec
ALCOHOL : 14%
TASTING NOTES
On the eye, the wine displays an intense red color with violet highlights, revealing freshness and concentration. The nose is fruity and expressive, opening on ripe fruit aromas enhanced by subtle spicy notes directly derived from the terroir, adding depth and character.
On the palate, the wine is lively and well-balanced, driven by a successful harmony between soft tannins and measured acidity. Delicate oak touches, reminiscent of vanilla, enrich the aromatic profile and underline the character of the Malbec.
Overall, the wine is fresh and fruit-forward, appealing through its well-controlled simplicity and its youthful, generous expression.
