The Charrier family owns around 30 hectares in the legendary sandy terroirs of Courthezon. Caroline Charrier is a 3rd generation winemaker who graduated from the wine school in Beaune (Lycée Viticole), is now responsible for the winemaking at the estate, and is gaining attention with amazing wines produced and international accolades. Domaine Font de Courtedune has been noted as one of Matt Wall's (Decanter) "hidden gems". Caroline cultivates superb plots of Châteauneuf-du-Pape (including the lieu-dit Rayas, neighboring with Château Rayas' vineyards) as well as Côtes du Rhône and IGP Vaucluse wines made from very old Grenache vines, co-planted and vinified using traditional methods. The winemaking is soft, using whole clusters, unfined/unfiltered, no oak ageing. The result is wines of great freshness, density, and balance.
